Hypothesis

A hypothesis is a testable statement that links two or more variables together in a relationship. We measure by using variables. The two types of variables are Independent and Dependent. The Independent variable is what causes the change and the dependent variable is the variable that changes because of the independent variable. Here is a simple hypothesis : If a person studies more they will get a higher grade on their test. First you would test someone who didn't study very long and then test them. Next you would take someone who studied well and studied longer and test them. When the person who barley studied gets a worse grade than the person who studied longer then your hypothesis has tested true. In this scenario the independent variable is studying longer and the dependent variable is the test score.
