Institutions

Institutions are patterned, organized, and constant sets of social structures that help a society survive. The picture presented is of Antelope Valley College. A college has it's own set of social structure. We have the professors and we have the students. Institutions are important because they give people a social purpose. Other institutions include the mass media, family, government, religion, and the military. Every institution comes with various different social structures, rules, and norms.
